Changelog

What changed in the APIs, newest first.

2026-10-18 — Trade flows launch (GATS)

New dataset: monthly US export shipments from USDA's Global Agricultural Trade System — the actual-shipments counterpart to the weekly export-sales contracts. 24 months of history across 40 destinations, 1,670 rows. New endpoints /v1/gats/flows, /v1/gats/compare, and MCP tools get_trade_flows / compare_contracts_vs_shipments.

2026-10-18 — Country names on export sales

Export-sales rows now carry readable country names alongside both identifiers: the GENC code (MEX), the name (Mexico), and the original numeric FAS code (2010). All 2,220 rows backfilled; 89 codes mapped, 7 territory codes keep their names as published.

2026-10-18 — Trust mechanics

Every MCP tool result now arrives as {status, data, provenance}, and every REST response carries a _provenance stamp (source, refresh cadence, exact as-of date). Gaps are labeled instead of hidden: no_data, source_unavailable, withheld — each with the reason.

2026-10-16 — WASDE forecasts launch

New dataset: monthly USDA supply & demand projections (FAS PSD) for corn, wheat, soybeans, rice, barley, cotton, soybean meal and oil — world and key countries. Endpoints /v1/wasde/projections and /v1/wasde/history, plus MCP tools.

2026-10-16 — Export sales launch (ESR)

New dataset: weekly US export sales contracts (USDA FAS), Thursdays 7:30am CT, 9 commodities, every buying country. Endpoints /v1/esr/sales and /v1/esr/history, plus MCP tools.
